Always a friendly frenzy & the most fun band to ever come out of Nashville, The Infamous Stringdusters will blow away your entire town if the conditions are right, which they were this romp of a night at the serendipity strung Cabooze.
Some of my own height seeking peaks of this long expando show were “Get it while you can”, freakstrumental “Blackrock”, westward leaning “Hitchhiker”, old school “Deep Elem Blues”, a few John Hartford treasures “Keep on trucking” & “Steam powered aeroplane” plus the first encore was the Trampled By Turtles (past tourmates & friends) song “Wait So Long”, with was delivered superbly & with deft dexterity.
It seems, the Dusters & Turtles liked each other so much as to play each other’s tunes. That’s beautiful & inspiring. A nice nod to TBT as well. I personally want those 2 to tour again soon. Pretty please.
Other freakgrass deliciousness was “How far I’d fall for you”, “Home of the Red Fox”, “Hillbillies”, “Echoes of goodbye” & the final encore was the dance crazed stomp delight “Uncle Pen”.
Lastly, my biggest highlight was partying in the green room with the band after the dazzling show. That was the cherry on top. These guys are fun, funny, music wizards, very intelligent & way cool on & off stage. They are all the real deal.
Why get famous when you can get infamous? And get away with it.
