Not so shockingly, Shakopee, Minnesota lit up once again with the eccentrically exotic prolifically exquisite dance quaking swamp funk of the New Orleans Radiators at friendly Turtle’s Bar.

The show blasted wide open into space with a unique spinny freakadelic instrumental “Metric” (a funky nod to the Meters).  Then more frenzied liveliness broke out with the  spastic tending “One monkey don’t stop no show”.  Other adventurous standouts in the first set were personal apexes of mine “Let the red wine flow”, “Drinkin’ dragon’s blood”, “Burning down the house” (Talking Heads) & other juicy jams.

The second set erupting resoundingly with one of my very fave songs “Run Red Run” ascending into what dreamingly felt like a non-stop mad medley.  More 2nd set peaks were old school freakery “Mountain jam” > “Lonesome Whistle” >“Chevy ’39” > “Crazy mixed up world” > “Can’t take it with ya” (complete with an ultra rare spontaneous LSD chant) & modern cosmic lovesong “Lovely you” to name a bunch.

Honestly, there wasn’t enough room this time for me to fully initiate my dance signature spin cycle moves.  So I happily shared the precious dance space with friends & fishhead family.  The resulting electric evening was to flippantly freak for!

  1. Hi! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a poster at the show. Can we get one still?
